Jeremy's 30!!!!!

Wow.  Three decades.  I remember when I used to think 30 was old... funny how your perspective changes as the years go by :)  Happy Birthday to my amazing husband, friend, and Cooper's awesome dad.  30 looks good on you, Jeremy!

In honor of this special day, here are some fun daddy and son photos from the past few weeks.  Enjoy!

"We're going to outsmart this little gopher, aren't we, Cooper?!?"

Fun with Play-Doh

"What's That?" Cooper was very curious inside Jeremy's derby car.

Driver in Training!

Good brushing!

Making sure the helmet still fits before the derby.  Cooper was helping, naturally.
"Am I good at stirring, daddy?"

Yes, Jeremy is teaching Cooper to be a good cook at an early age. He certainly won't get that from his mother:)

And a funny thing happened to us tonight.  We were talking about this fall, deer hunting to be exact, and Jeremy made the comment that he would like to arrange for someone to come stay with me and the kids while he goes hunting for a couple days.  Me and the kids.  Weird.  We're going to have KIDS in roughly nine weeks!  Surreal and exciting, all at once.  It was a funny moment we shared, as we haven't really referred to life with 'the kids' until now.

Both of our 'kids' are growing fast, and our little girl is getting stronger and stronger in there--as witnessed by my stomach's morphing shape at random times.  She is now around 3 pounds and is making millions of brain connections by the second.
Cooper loves to lift up my shirt and say, "BABY!" (sounds more like 'bobby' but we know what he means).  He gives my belly a wide-mouth kiss and a hug and then sometimes runs to grab the ultrasound picture off the shelf.  I think he's making the connection, although he certainly has no clue what's about to hit him!!  In church last week, he was rubber-necking it to see the newest addition to our church family sitting a few pews ahead of us.  He was very curious.  It was pretty cute!!

Lastly, I read a story tonight that brought me to tears (maybe hormones, you be the judge)... there was a car accident not too far from here over the weekend where three generations of 'women' were killed.  It didn't really hit home until I got an email from our school secretary that the husband/dad/son of these women used to work at my school.Although I didn't personally know him, it made the story so much more sad to think of this story from the perspective of this poor man who just lost the three most important women in his life--his mother, his wife, and his 8-year-old daughter--all in an instant.  It reminds me to be thankful for all the blessings God has given us and to never take it for granted that the most important thing in life is family.  As you give thanks tonight, please pray for this Michael Hoffman's 5-year-old son, Jason, who remains in critical condition, and pray for strength for him in the coming days and years as he figures out how to continue life after this.

Enjoy the cooler BEAUTIFUL weather!

Fun at the Fair

Cooper had a great time at the Scott County Fair!  He enjoyed lots of extra time with grandma, grandpa, daddy, and Adam over the week of the fair... working those long days got the best of me, but I did get to sneak out and hang out with my boys for just a little bit here and there.  Cooper LOVED the horses and other animals.  Did you know cows say, "Mmmmm?"  It's pretty cute :)  Machinery Hill was probably his highlight, as he got to turn dials, push buttons, steer wheels, and sit in the big seats!  The State Fair is just a few weeks away... where there are more animals, bigger machines, and more food choices!

Another ice cream cone... no clothes, of course!  Grandpa, when do I get Zanzibar?

Cooper and Grandpa, best buds.

Uncle Adam took Cooper into the dugout and onto the field after the Brewer's game.  He even gave Cooper a ball!

More fun in the yard with grandpa

In other news, we recently had Cooper's 18 mo. photos taken by our talented friend Nicole, of My Friends Photography.  She amazes me more each time she shoots!  She took us to an arboretum in Roseville that was just the perfect place for a little boy to explore.  I love how she just went with his lead! Here is just a little sneak peek of what's to come...

I want to be just like my daddy...
The arboretum had a nice little fountain, just the perfect size for a little boy's curiosity to get the best of him...

And when we said it was time to get out, this is what Cooper thought of that idea...
Can't wait to meet our little girl :)
