Big Kid Day with Mom

I hope one day when the kids look back on their childhoods, they remember that we had special date days together.  Right now, they LOVE them, and I hope they always do :)

This day, I got to hang out with my big kids...  the day started with a dentist visit and a trip to the bakery across the street.

The kids had swimming lessons mid-day, and afterward, we went to the Ney Center to go EXPLORING!

They each found a walking stick and were more than happy to pose for a few pictures!

They loved the Windmill Trail, but there were A LOT of mosquitoes!  The trail was muddy but fun!  The kids loved getting a bit dirty :)

Then we hiked down to the overlook.  They were excited how much they could see.  And I love this moment of taking in the little things.  A butterfly landed on Izzy and Cooper carefully lured it off.

Frog Catching!  There were lots and lots of tiny frogs hopping around!

I think their favorite part was going down to the pond.  They liked when I told them to practice how to 'just be.'  They liked laying on the dock trying to see what they could see.

We had a really fun day together!  The weather didn't cooperate for our morning, but we still had a GREAT day!
