Back to School...

Jeremy and I both survived our 8th first day of school as teachers.  We thoroughly enjoyed the summer, but now it's back to life like the rest of the world (sort of...).  There are some ways in which being in the classroom can never quite be compared to the rest of the world's occupations, but we both love what we do and could never imagine a different "calling."

My favorite part of the day, though, had nothing to do with school, and everything to do with a certain little boy who screamed, "Mommy!!" when I arrived to pick him up at daycare.  It stinks not to spend my days with him anymore!  But I must confess that starting this school year feels a whole lot different... in just two short months, I will be back at home every day with a new little baby in my arms!  My leave request was granted, so I will not be back to work until March 1st... I am so thankful that the baby and Cooper both will have some extra mommy time this winter.  Coop will still go to daycare most days, but I will be making a point to enjoy some time off with him as well.

We had a great Labor Day weekend--it was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation.  We had some of Jeremy's colleagues over Friday night for a bonfire, and Sunday we went to the MN Zoo.  The time in between we spent hanging out around the house, playing in the yard, and running some needed errands.  Target and Cub have never been so pleased to have us as customers!  We were in the stock-up mood and got some great deals.

Last weekend, we headed out to the Great MN Get-Together.  We had a really fun time, and Cooper was in awe!  He loved the machines and the animals, and he also got to jam out to some music.  He's loving music more and more these days.  His favorite animals are either the horses or the goats... not really sure how that happened, but his squeals said it all.

Like every good fairgoer, he enjoyed some good eats. 

For the first time in literally months, he actually fell asleep in his stroller!

And  we're not sure what to think of Cooper's future aspirations of becoming a pole dancer...  While doing a quick change at the zoo, I couldn't resist this innocent shot!
